Dear Lorn & CAPS Edmonton Friends:
As I write this letter, I have just finished eating my hot meal that was delivered by a Meals on
Wheels volunteer. A week before, he delivered my groceries and frozen meals that I had ordered.
This is wonderful for me.
I can stay inside my sunny condo and look out the window to see the snow, but not needing to
walk or drive on the ice to get groceries. You see, Multiple Sclerosis has left me functioning with
one good leg and one good arm. Needless to say, it's hard for me to get around.
Today on the radio I heard the perfect message as I ate my prepared meal. “Thank you to the wonderful people who brighten our lives with your kind service. God bless you all.”
This is the perfect message for the people at Meals on Wheels. They help me stay where I am
and that suits me fine. I like my independence and feel comfortable in my own home instead of
being in a care facility.
Your donation has helped me stay right here with my comfy couch to watch the snow fall from
my window. Your generosity allows Meals on Wheels to continue its service and help people
like me. Thank you so much.
Sincerely,
Betty K.
Edmonton Meals on Wheels client since 2000
At our December social gathering we collected donations and sent them along to Meals on Wheels at the suggestion of Mary Johnson, one of our programs directors.
