A very surprised and grateful Bob 'Idea Man' Hooey went on stage as the last award of the evening was announced at our 2011 CAPS convention in Toronto.
"The Spirit of CAPS may be awarded to one CAPS member each year who demonstrates the spirit of sharing, leading and inspiring other professional speakers, trainers and facilitators within the mission, vision, and values of CAPS. This member will have demonstrated the qualities of generosity, spirit and professionalism over many years and reflected outstanding credit, respect and admiration in the Association."
Bob is the 11th person in CAPS history to be awarded this honor.
In his acceptance speech he pointed out this was not a singular honor, but one accepted on behalf of the many people who had said yes when he asked for help. He accepted it as well on behalf of his fellow speakers in CAPS, NSA, and the GSF; as well as those who lead our various chapters and national boards.
Bob is serving as CAPS Edmonton president for 2012.
